There she aligned internal policies and processes with the WFP’s external values and goals and helped to negotiate its first Collective Bargaining Agreement. As a consultant, Allison has also coached a variety of leaders, supported organizations through transformational change projects and led strategic communications efforts.
Previously, Allison was the Senior Director of Fellowships at Leadership for Educational Equity and the Vice President of Programs at the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC). At both organizations, she supported executives and administrators as they worked to disrupt oppressive systems and implement more equitable policy. Before that, she led communications efforts at national non-profit organizations, including the Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth, the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association and National ACORN. In those positions, she developed and facilitated training for youth, healthcare providers, organizers, attorneys, advocates and others across the country.
Allison earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations from Howard University and a Master of Science in Organization Development from American University, both in Washington, D.C. She lives in Maryland with her husband and son.

Whether navigating complex compliance requirements for nonprofits, or helping them overcome operational challenges, she is a trusted advisor known for her problem-solving mindset and ability to see potential pitfalls before they arise. She is recognized for her thoughtful listening and hands-on approach and for her ability to find practical solutions that keep organizations running smoothly.
Previously, as Deputy Director of the New York Working Families Party, she served as the organization’s operational engine: overseeing high-stakes campaigns, financial compliance, staff and volunteer development and complex partner ecosystems across the state. Before joining WFP, Dahlia spent a decade at the ACLU as a Senior Advocacy and Policy Strategist, leading ballot initiative work and providing strategic support to affiliates nationwide. Her career began on the frontlines of the labor movement, organizing low-wage hotel, restaurant and casino workers with the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union. She later served as Director of Community Organizing for the Sacramento Mutual Housing Association, where she built resident power and youth leadership across low-income housing communities.
Dahlia graduated summa cum laude from SUNY Geneseo. She enjoys life in Brooklyn with her partner, their two kids and their dog, Teddy.

OUR BELIEFS
The Right Infrastructure
EpicWorks believes that operating soundly on firm ground is what enables an organization to ready itself for both the challenges and opportunities it will face. The right infrastructure is essential: internal systems, tools and resources for maintaining financial stability, legal security and a healthy culture.
That is why we are dedicated to providing reliable, accurate and timely services grounded in shared values. We work tirelessly to prevent breakdowns in infrastructure that can disrupt operations or compromise an organization’s mission. We also know how to help organizations navigate conflict and face changing conditions without sacrificing their commitments to justice related to their role within a movement, responsibilities in their communities, working conditions, data security, racial and gender equity and other commitments.
The right infrastructure practices also depend on people. It is essential to ensure staff members have the training, skills and capacity to utilize infrastructure in ways that enhance their work and strengthen their organization. That is why we offer learning and development opportunities for staff members at Participating Organizations: to help them maximize the infrastructure we provide.
EpicWorks, in itself, is an important facet of progressive movement infrastructure, one that enables organizations across our network to develop their leadership and increase their power in ways that drive collective impact.
The Right
relationships
EpicWorks believes that strong working relationships between staff and management are essential for enabling organizations to perform at a high level. We aren’t just a service provider. We’re part of the movement and we understand how movement organizations need to work in order to achieve impact. Organizations cannot accomplish transformative work if they are weighed down in burnout, turnover, mistrust and conflict.
That is why we bring labor relations expertise and services to our Participating Organizations—including systems for setting the terms of work and managing conflict resolution—that are rooted in principles of deep alignment, solidarity and shared success. Too often, labor relations in the U.S. are working within an outdated and adversarial model, one that pits staff and management against each other. EpicWorks knows there is a better way because we practice it every day: We put systems in place to ensure that staff and management can resolve differences and operate as joint partners in the health, wellbeing and effectiveness of the organization, not as opponents.
Our approach prioritizes proactive relationship-building, clear expectations and a commitment to transparency, accountability and mutual respect on all sides. It works to elevate employee input appropriately, resolve conflicts constructively and early and uphold just cause protections. Whether unionizing or seeking to improve labor relations, we offer a practical, effective approach and the corresponding documents, tools and partnerships.
EpicWorks and Workers United have negotiated a minimum basic agreement to support Participating Organizations as they begin the process of negotiating their first contract. This framework offers a clear foundation of core terms and conditions designed to promote consistency, efficiency, and a constructive bargaining experience. Leaders across Participating Organizations have seen the CBA play a crucial role in integrating clarity, fairness and accountability into an organization’s culture and operations.
our story
By 2005, the Working Families Party realized that it had outgrown the internal systems it had been relying on to support its day-to-day work. The leadership team understood that strengthening the core operating systems of the organization would be essential for expanding the organization’s work and for readying the organization for any challenges it might face.
Working Families Party leadership created CLASI—Community Labor Administrative Services, Inc.—with a single purpose in mind: to help Working Families Party and Working Families Power grow and thrive by creating a separate team dedicated to organizational health, people practices, legal compliance and sophisticated financial management.
It worked. Overall, the team’s readiness for taking on new opportunities and challenges greatly increased. As the CLASI team learned more about the organization’s needs, they developed innovative ways to improve their service and support those needs.
It soon became clear that organizations across the progressive movement were looking for the same support and services. The CLASI team realized that we could extend our service to other organizations, doing so in a uniquely movement-aligned way.
We learned we loved doing it. And we were good at it. Since then, we have steadily grown. More than 50 Participating Organizations have used the wide range of services we provide.
In 2025, we decided to relaunch as EpicWorks, the name of one of our internal teams that came to represent our overall approach and ethos. Through the relaunch, we reaffirmed our commitment to the field and expanded the number of Participating Organizations we serve. We also expanded and upgraded our services to meet the specific needs of movement organizations as they face new threats in the years ahead.
Our purpose at EpicWorks is to set up movement organizations to achieve greater impact. We provide foundational services in four areas for which movement organizations of different types and sizes need a trustworthy external partner: organizational health, people practices, legal compliance and financial systems. We provide those services in ways that fit together and build on one another and most importantly, in ways that align with the values of our Participating Organizations.
